For a colourful and tasty twist on traditional slaw, use red cabbage and hazelnuts, and flavour it with a horseradish and honey dressing.

Ingredients for Fresh coleslaw

  • 75g (1/2 cup) hazelnuts
  • 3 cups (about 240g) shredded red cabbage
  • 2 cups (about 160g) shredded savoy cabbage
  • 1 green apple, halved, cored, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) cider vinegar
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish cream

    You can prepare this recipe to the end of step 1 up to 1 day ahead. Store in an airtight container. Continue from step 2 up to 30 minutes before serving.
